A day after this blog was initiated, we receive another great news that Singaporean Prohibited Projects now has it’s own blog. Shaiful, the man behind the initiative was also a writer of two of our personal favourite ‘zine, Xerox and Social Prison. He would be contributing for our second issue of Shock&Awe! magazine! Prohibited Projects has been active organising DIY shows for various touring bands and yes, I believe the newly created blog would be an indispensable source of information on shows happening in Singapore. Go visit HERE (or click on the banner).

We are proud to present you our official (online) launch of our Shock&Awe! Interview series which would feature interviews with local Malaysian bands together with some live footages (whenever available). We couldn’t think of a better band than Sarjan Hassan to kick start our series. Sarjan Hassan has been a prominent band in the Malaysian scene with loyal following that those bands playing for Telekom Malaysia (TM) could only dream of.

Knot Records (yeah, the same people who is running this website) has recently came out with a DIY music video for Radio on Fire by the band Pusher. According to the band:

Radio On Fire!’ is essentially about the fall of the corporate music industry which not only exploits the listeners but also destroys the creative freedom for people to create music. Basically ‘Radio’ here is an analogy referred to all these major labels that are threatened by the emerged of lots of D.I.Y/Independent labels today, simply proves that anybody could appreciate and enjoy music without conforming to their ways. The revolution of ‘punk rock’ itself since the 70’s, in a way is the main factor that drove almost everybody to be self-empowered enough and go against the filthy corporate game.

This video was also recently picked by the people from Maximum Rock & Roll for ‘MRR’s Video Of The Week’ in September 2010. Click here to view.

This is a track from Pusher’s “Our Beloved City Of The Dead” CD released in 2010.

More on Pusher and their releases on Knot Records.

Enjoy and let your radio burn!
